ABOUT METAL BOND DIAMOND TOOLS

Metal bond grinding wheel tools offer the long life and low maintenance you need. Suitable for all levels of both wet and dry grinding, these tools are built for endurance and performance.

Such metal bonded diamond tools are created from the sintering of powdered metals and other compounds with Diamond or Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN). This produces an extremely strong product that holds its shape. Metal Bond maintains a long tool life, with reduced need for frequent dressing. Metal Bond wheel have the hardest matrix, performing best in operations under flood coolant.

Unlike resin and vitrified wheels, metal bond wheel material can’t be removed to release dull grit and expose new edges.

  • CDT holds ISO certification and guarantees the quality and performance of all products with a comprehensive warranty. However, here are some tips to extend the lifespan of your tools:

    1. Use the correct type and size of grinding wheel for the material you're working with.

    2. Use cooling and lubricant to prevent overheating.

    3. Clean and Condition the tool as part of your process to remove dust and debris & expose new Diamond crystals.

    4. Store in a dry or clean place to prevent moisture or any chemical exposure.

    5. Conduct regular inspections for signs of wear, damage, or malfunction.

  • Metal bonded diamond tools are primarily used for processing hard and abrasive materials such as:

    1. Glass

    2. Carbide

    3. Ceramic materials.

    4. Concrete and cementitious surfaces.

    5. Granite, marble, and other natural stones.

    6. Hardened metals and alloys.

  • Using a Metal Bond Diamond wheel for steel is not generally recommended due to wheel loading and high heat that results. In some cases, CBN is used in place of Diamond and certain steels and alloys can be ground with Metal Bond products.
