The diamond rotary dresser, commonly called a pizza-cutter dresser, is a disc with a diamond surface affixed to its edge. Again, the CNC program controls the grinding wheel profile. The main benefits afforded by use of such a rotary dresser are:

Differing designs and attributes make various types of diamond dressing tools best suited for different applications. For instance, single point dressing tools offer enhanced ease is usage, encouraging more frequent and pronounced rotation. This helps prolong the working life of the dresser as it renders precise results.

Impregnated diamond dressers are made from crushed diamond grit set in multiple layers, in a random pattern. These dressers have superior cutting quality, ensuring maintenance of sensitive shapes and surface.

The advantage of using multi-point dressers is the capacity of their several layers of diamonds affixed with a durable bond to handle dressings of large and wide grinding wheel surfaces. In addition, they generally do not need maintenance or resetting.

Blade diamond dressers are available with swiveling holders or with a diamond abrasive plate stabilized in a shank. Good for use on angular grinding wheels, they are known for restoring the original roughness of wheel surface.

Chisel type diamond dressers are produced using special stones to suit shank size and diverse angles. Of major importance to their design are the exact specifications such as dimensions of shank, angles, nose radius and carat weight of the diamond.
