Pressing Technician (RB) - First Shift
SUMMARY: Responsible for the pressing/firing, inspection, and mounting of resin bonded product. This will include tasks such as cleaning and assembly of the molds, filling and pressing/firing of product. All will be required to maintain quality and safety standards, maintaining equipment and tooling, keeping records.
HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
JOB DUTIES:
Required to read, understand, and follow work orders, formulation sheets and engineering drawing.
Required to clean molds and properly store them
Able to load and press powdered cores
Able to extract pressed cores from molds
Required to press DW product
Able to use “old style” molds to press abrasive sections
Ability to inspect the product using scales, calipers, and micrometers
Visually inspect tooling for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage both pre and post pressing
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE
Report time and material in manufacturing systems
Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Safely run and use required equipment
Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings
High school diploma or GED
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Good hand eye coordination
High level of interpersonal communication skills
Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Use of hands, fingers, and arms to grasp, feel and reach
Frequently required to walk
Stand for long periods of time
Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Potential for long shifts and/or weekends
