Mixing/Pressing Technician (MB)

SUMMARY:  Responsible for the mixing, pressing, inspection, and firing of metal bonded product. This will include tasks such as mixing of abrasive and bonds, filling and pressing of product using molds, and the firing and inspection of product. All will be required to maintain quality and safety standards, maintaining equipment and tooling, keeping records.

HOURS:
1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand, and follow work orders, formulation sheets and engineering drawing.

  • Required to gather the proper materials, accurately weigh, and mix to the correct consistency. 

  • Able to prepare the mold, clean, fill, level, assemble and press/fire the product to print requirements.

  • Ability to inspect the product using scales, calipers, and micrometers both before and after firing.

  • Visually inspect tooling/molds for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage both pre and post pressing.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE.

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems.

  • Perform other duties as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good hand eye coordination

  • High level of interpersonal communication skills

  • Good computer skills; Excel, Word, ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use of hands, fingers, and arms to grasp, feel and reach

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
