Plating Technician

SUMMARY:  As a Plating Technician at Continental Diamond Tool, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the excellence of our products. Your responsibilities will encompass the efficient processing of products through our plating baths, involving tasks such as tank setup/tear down, reclaiming grit, diligent record-keeping, and maintenance of equipment and tooling. You will also be required to adhere to quality and safety standards to uphold our reputation and values. HOURS:
We currently have opportunities available for both full-time 1st and 3rd shift positions. 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. 3rd shift hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. There is a $1.50/hr. shift premium for these full-time positions with opportunities for overtime. DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand and follow work orders and engineering drawing.

  • Able to prepare, fixture and process product through plating process

  • Required to handle all duties relating to processing of product and grit recovery

  • Required to do daily maintenance and cleaning of the tanks, fixturing and plating department

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings

  • Highschool diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good hand eye coordination

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems

  • Understanding controls and instrumentation

  • Attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Use of hands, fingers and arms to grasp, feel and reach

  • Regularly exposed to nickel plating chemistries, solder flux, mineral spirits and stop-off maskants

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs

  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Potential for long shifts and/or weekends
