Quality Control/Inspection

SUMMARY:  As part of Continental Diamond Tool's Quality Control and Inspection Department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards. Your primary task is the review and approval of in-process and finished products. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and checks throughout the manufacturing process and recording quality results. Your attention to detail and dedication to quality will make a significant impact on our company's reputation for excellence in the industry.

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand and follow work orders and engineering drawing. Experience with Keyence, Zoller amd CMM machines. CMM programming is not required but encouraged.

  • Measures and verifies parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and work pieces utilizing; comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment as needed.

  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to the operator or production supervisor.

  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.

  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes machining, plating, and grinding

  • Good PC skills and experience of Microsoft Office

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Correctly and accurately inspect product using required measuring equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork and drawings

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Functional and technical skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP, inspection software

  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality system

  • Attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
