WORKING IN PLATING
WHAT DOES A PLATING TECHNICIAN DO?
If you’ve never worked in plating before, that’s okay. Many people haven't.
As a Plating Technician, you’ll prepare and fixture products for processing in plating baths, maintain tanks and equipment, recover grit, and keep accurate production records while following work orders and plating schedules. You may be a good fit for our team if you:
✅ Enjoy hands-on, detailed work
✅ Follow instructions, work orders, and drawings
✅ Use required PPE and follow safety procedures
✅ Stay organized, dependable, and ready to adapt
✅ Can work independently while supporting the team
For our more experienced positions, we're also looking for people who can problem-solve, manage multiple jobs, and help less-experienced team members develop their skills.
Job Duties & requirements
What It Takes to Succeed

You'll be responsible for:
Setting and operating CNC turning machines using Haas, FANUC, or Siemens controls
Producing precision components from engineering drawings
Performing workholding and tooling setup for turned components
Taking ownership of jobs from setup through sign-off

We're looking for someone who can:
Read and work from engineering drawings, including GD&T
Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and depth gauges
Take pride in producing high-quality work
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout production

Our ideal candidates will have:
Minimum 3 years' hands-on CNC machining experience
CNC turning experience preferred (strong milling backgrounds considered)
Confidence using Haas, FANUC, or Siemens control systems
GCSE Maths Grade C / 4–5 or above
Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
