SUMMARY: Ready to put your plating experience to work in a more advanced role? The Grade 2 Plating Technician is responsible for processing products through plating baths, maintaining plating schedules, and supporting production efficiency. This role requires the ability to calculate plating cycle times, plan multiple orders, train Level 1 technicians, and perform finishing operations on Level 1 plated products. The technician ensures quality, safety, and accuracy while maintaining equipment, tooling, and process documentation.
HOURS:
We currently have opportunities available for all shifts:
1st Shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Full-time with benefits and opportunities for overtime.
3rd shift hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. full-time with benefits and opportunities for overtime. There is a $2/hr premium for 3rd shift.
Weekend shift hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. Work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours. Training will take place on first shift for approximately the first 30 days, and employees must successfully complete training before being considered for the weekend shift. Full benefit package.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Read, understand, and follow work orders and engineering drawings.
Prepare, fixture, and process products through the plating process.
Perform all duties related to product processing and grit recovery.
Conduct daily maintenance and cleaning of tanks, fixtures, and plating department equipment.
Calculate cycle times and amphour cycles for plated products.
Evaluate scheduled product and estimate/plan plating cycles to meet production requirements.
Plan and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations, including proper PPE usage.
Report time and material usage in manufacturing systems.
Train Level 1 Plating Technicians.
Perform finishing operations on Level 1 plated products, including sawblades, mounted saws, routers, hole saws, nongeometric tooling, and products requiring minimal masking or shielding.
Maintain equipment and tooling to ensure proper operation.
Keep accurate records of plating activities and process data.
Perform other duties as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years of plating or manufacturing experience.
Ability to safely operate run and use required equipment.
Capacity to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings.
High school diploma or GED.
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Good hand eye coordination.
Excellent communication skills.
Good computer skills; Excel, Word, ERP systems.
Understanding controls, instrumentation, and basic mechanical concepts.
High attention to detail and sound judgment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regular exposure to nickel plating baths, solder flux, mineral spirits, acids, coolant, and stopoff maskants.
Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Frequent walking; occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
Use of hands, fingers, and arms for grasping, reaching, and handling materials.
Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Potential for long shifts and/or weekend work.
