SUMMARY: As a Process Quality Engineer at Continental Diamond Tool, you will ensure that manufacturing processes consistently meet quality standards and customer expectations. This role involves monitoring process performance, leading root cause investigations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will collaborate across departments and with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues, maintain compliance, and support new product introductions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure production processes meet required quality standards.
Implement statistical process control (SPC) and other monitoring techniques.
Track and analyze process capability indices (Cp, Cpk).
Develop and maintain quality plans for new and existing processes.
Create and update Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEA)
Lead investigations into process or product non-conformities.
Apply structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone (Ishikawa), and 8D.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Identify inefficiencies and opportunities for process optimization.
Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
Reduce defects, waste, and cost through targeted improvements.
Conduct internal process audits to ensure adherence to standards.
Support external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
Ensure compliance with regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
Maintain quality documentation including work instructions, control plans, and test reports.
Generate and present quality metrics such as scrap rates and defect trends.
Train production staff on quality procedures and standards.
Provide technical support during new product introductions or process changes.
Address customer complaints related to process quality.
Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues in incoming materials.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Develop and maintain quality documents and control plans.
Conduct internal and external process audits.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across production.
Ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory quality standards.
Assist in new product introduction (NPI) activities and validations.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent education or experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of SPC, PFMEA, CAPA, and APQP methodologies.
Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar quality systems.
Proficiency in data analysis and quality metrics reporting.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
