SUMMARY: Join our team as a CNC Machine Operator at Continental Diamond Tool. In this role, you will be the backbone of our manufacturing process, responsible for programming, fixturing, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality machined parts. The position requires a commitment to quality and safety standards, caring for equipment and tools, and precise record-keeping. Your skill will help shape the exceptional quality and craftsmanship our customers trust.
HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
JOB DUTIES:
Ability to read, understand and follow work orders and blueprints/engineering drawing.
Ability to measure and verify settings and parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample work pieces utilizing: comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment as needed.
Ability to operate all of the CNC machines in the department
Required to operate machines simultaneously
Required to program multiple CNC machines manually/at the controller
Required to creatively machine complex parts; either complex sequence and/or set-up; complex programming
Select tools for optimum productivity
Selects/Creates work holding for optimum productivity
Required to regularly hold .0005” tolerance or better
Required to meet standard productivity requirements
Required to train other employees
Report time and material in manufacturing systems
Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Safely run and use required equipment
Correctly and accurately inspect product using required measuring equipment
Minimum of 5 years of related experience
Required to maintain +.0005” tolerances or better
Ability to read and understand work instructions, paperwork and drawings
High school diploma or GED
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong conceptual skills
8+ years of related experience
Operate manual machines (lathe, mill, grinder)
Functional and technical skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems
Understanding controls and instrumentation
Attention to detail and have sound judgment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged standing
Use of hands, fingers and arms to grasp, feel and reach
Frequently required to walk
Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Regularly exposed to grease, oils, noise, and coolant.
