Core Preparation Technician (RB)

SUMMARY: Responsible for the cleaning and preparing of cores for the resin bonded product. This will include tasks such as washing/drying, sandblasting, and the masking of cores, application of resin glue on the cores. All will be required to maintain quality and safety standards, maintaining equipment and tooling, keeping records.
HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
JOB DUTIES:
Required to read, understand, and follow work orders, formulation sheets and engineering drawing.
Ability to inspect the product using scales, calipers, and micrometers
Ability to operate and interpret hardness testing equipment.
Visually inspect cores for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage
Ability to clean, mask, sandblast and prepare cores as required prior to pressing
Responsible for cleaning and preparation of recoat hubs as needed
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE
Report time and material in manufacturing systems
Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Safely run and use required equipment
Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings
Highschool diploma or GED
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Good hand eye coordination
High level of interpersonal communication skills
Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment
Good time management/organizational skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stand for long periods of time
Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch
Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
Potential for long shifts and/or weekends
