Vitrified Mixing / Pressing Technician (VB)

SUMMARY:  As a Mixing/Pressing Technician in our fast-growing Vitrified Bond Department, you will be responsible for the preparation and production of vitrified bonded products through a series of critical manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include the precise mixing of abrasive materials and bonding agents, accurate filling and pressing of molds, and the controlled firing and inspection of finished products. This role requires strict adherence to quality and safety standards, routine maintenance of equipment and tooling, and diligent record-keeping. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality components in a manufacturing environment.

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand, and follow work orders, formulation sheets and engineering drawing.

  • Required to gather the proper materials, accurately weigh, and mix to the correct consistency 

  • Able to prepare the mold, clean, fill, level, assemble and press the product to print requirements

  • Ability to inspect the product using scales, calipers, and micrometers both before and after firing

  • Required to properly load, diagram each level, and run the proper firing cycle of the furnace

  • Visually inspect tooling for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage both pre and post pressing

  • Ability to clean, mask, grit blast and prepare cores as required for epoxy mounting

  • Ability to properly and safely epoxy mount product to cores

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE 

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings

  • Highschool diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good hand eye coordination

  • Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
