What is Mirror Film and Lapping Film?

Mirror Film is made by uniformly coating fine-graded abrasive grains onto polyester film using an electrostatic method. This results in superior sanding capability and long-lasting durability. Lapping Film uses micron-graded abrasive grains evenly distributed in a resin adhesive and coated on polyester film to deliver consistent, accurate, and high-quality finishes. Diamond Lapping Film, a film-backed superabrasive, is ideal for precision finishing of ultra-hard, brittle, or advanced materials such as ceramics, ferrites, and next-generation composites.

Backing Material

Polyester film’s uniform thickness, smooth surface, and strength provides strong resistance to pulling and tearing forces, with less elasticity. Various thicknesses are available, starting at a minimum of 25 microns.

Abrasive Minerals and Grit

A variety of abrasive mineral types are available, including Aluminum Oxide, Silicon Carbide and Diamond. We also offer a wide variety of grits from 100 to 0.1 microns in diameter.
