advanced CNC technology

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our expanding team. Do you have a progressive mindset, embrace new technology, and enjoy the challenge of complex, close -tolerance work? CDT is seeking candidates with experience in:

✅ Haas controls

✅ FANUC controls

✅ Siemens controls

You will play a key role in producing high-precision, one-off, or very small batch components using advanced CNC machinery, primarily in a turning environment.

Job Duties & requirements

What It Takes to Succeed

  • You'll be responsible for:

    • Setting and operating CNC turning machines using Haas, FANUC, or Siemens controls

    • Producing precision components from engineering drawings

    • Performing workholding and tooling setup for turned components

    • Taking ownership of jobs from setup through sign-off

  • We're looking for someone who can:

    • Read and work from engineering drawings, including GD&T

    • Carry out in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and depth gauges

    • Take pride in producing high-quality work

    • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout production

  • Our ideal candidates will have:

    • Minimum 3 years' hands-on CNC machining experience

    • CNC turning experience preferred (strong milling backgrounds considered)

    • Confidence using Haas, FANUC, or Siemens control systems

    • GCSE Maths Grade C / 4–5 or above

    • Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Excel

  • Success in this role requires:

    • Participating in daily team meetings

    • Collaborating with colleagues across departments

    • Sharing ideas for process improvements

    • Communicating effectively within a close-knit team environment
