CNC Machinist – Precision Turning Specialist
SUMMARY: We are seeking an skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our expanding team. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and the launch of new products. You will play a key role in producing high-precision, one-off, or very small batch components using advanced CNC machinery, primarily in a turning environment.
We’re looking for someone with a progressive mindset, who embraces new technology, enjoys the challenge of complex, close -tolerance work and is confident working with Fanuc or Siemens-based control systems.
HOURS:
Monday to Friday
JOB DUTIES:
Set and operate CNC turning machines (Haas, FANUC or Siemens controls) to produce precision components from engineering drawings
Carry out your own in-process inspection using micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators and depth gauges
Take ownership of your work from setup through to sign-off
Uphold health, safety and housekeeping standards throughout the shift
Take part in daily team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvement
Support colleagues and work collaboratively across departments
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Confident operating either Haas, FANUC or Siemens control systems
Able to read and work from engineering drawings, including GD&T
Competent with workholding and tooling setup for turned components
GCSE Maths grade C / 4–5 or above
Comfortable using basic Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years' hands-on CNC machining experience, ideally in turning (Strong milling background considered if you're keen to move into turning)
