SUMMARY:  The Saw Technician is responsible for accurately and safely cutting raw materials for all product lines and projects according to engineering drawings and job specifications. This role requires the operation of various band saws and cut-off saws, adherence to quality and safety standards, and routine equipment maintenance.

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read, interpret, and follow work orders and engineering drawings.

  • Measure and verify material type and dimensions using tape measures, scales, and calipers.

  • Select appropriate equipment, blades, speeds, and feeds for efficient and safe cutting.

  • Operate overhead lifting equipment, chains, slings, and magnets to move and store materials.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety regulations.

  • Accurately report time and material usage in manufacturing systems.

  • Perform routine maintenance on saw equipment and tooling.

  • Assist with inventory management and material staging.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

  • Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment

  • Familiarity with various saw types and cutting techniques.

  • Functional and technical skills in material handling and equipment setup.

  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

  • Forklift certification is a plus.
