SUMMARY:  We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinding Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing machined parts by fixturing, setting up, and operating CNC machines. This role requires maintaining quality and safety standards, ensuring equipment and tooling are in optimal condition, and keeping accurate records

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ability to read, understand and follow work orders and blueprints/engineering drawing.

  • Ability to measure and verify settings and parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample work pieces utilizing:  comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment as needed.

  • Ability to operate multiple CNC machines in the department

  • Learn to edit and program manually/at the controller

  • Selects/Sets up proper work holding for job; Collet, Chuck, or Vise

  • Required to set up, change tooling, and load programs from computer

  • Required to meet standard productivity requirements

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Correctly and accurately inspect product using required measuring equipment

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, paperwork and drawings

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong conceptual skills

  • 2+ years of related experience

  • Operate manual machines (lathe, mill, grinder)

  • Functional and technical skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems

  • Understanding controls and instrumentation

  • Attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged standing

  • Use of hands, fingers and arms to grasp, feel and reach

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs

  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Regularly exposed to grease, oils, noise, and coolant.
