SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled EDM Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating EDM machines, with a preference for those who have worked with super abrasives. The EDM Operator will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating EDM machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications by removing material from a workpiece using controlled electrical discharges (sparks).
HOURS: 3rd shift hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
JOB DUTIES:
Set up and operate EDM machines to produce parts according to blueprints, specifications, and job orders.
Program EDM machines using CAD/CAM software.
Monitor the EDM process to ensure quality and precision of parts.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on EDM machines.
Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments.
Maintain a clean and organized work area including equipment.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures, by using the EDM tools efficiently and accurately.
Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong understanding of machining principles and precision measurement techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in machining or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience operating EDM machines, with a preference for experience in super abrasives.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stand for long periods.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
