SUMMARY:  Responsible for cleaning and masking of product going into the plating process.  This will include tasks such as chemical cleaning of the part, masking of the product using paint/stop-off, vinyl tape and/or masking film.  All will be required to maintain quality and safety standards, maintaining equipment and tooling, keeping records.

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand, and follow work orders and engineering drawing.

  • Able to prepare, fixture and process product through the masking process

  • Visually inspect tooling for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage both pre and post masking

  • Properly label tooling with company name, mesh size, abrasive type, any special notes, and “Rush” orders.

  • Ability to correctly and accurately inspect product using required equipment; scales, calipers, and micrometers.

  • Able to use the speed lathe, polishers, belt sanders, sandblaster, buffing/grinding wheels and pedestal grinder.

  • Use the demagnetization devices.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE

  • Ability to prepare and mask non-geometric tooling; Sawblades, mounted saws, routers, hole saws.

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings

  • Highschool diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good hand eye coordination

  • High level of interpersonal communication skills

  • Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly exposed to nickel plating chemistries, acids, MEK, stop-off maskants

  • Sit for long periods of time

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs

  • Potential for long shifts and/or weekends
