SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the handset of diamonds on graphite molds using basic tools. These must be set to the drawing specification and prepared for the next manufacturing operation. Must maintain quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment and tooling; keeping records.
HOURS:
1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
JOB DUTIES:
Read, understand, and follow work orders and drawings
Find and weigh out specified diamond
Glue molds in graphite
Selects tools for optimum productivity
Set product to specific requirements; reinforcing stones oriented properly, gaps between stones correct and consistent, main mesh set evenly and consistently throughout mold and within setting lines.
Prepare product after setting for the plating operation
Meet standard productivity requirements
Report time and material in manufacturing systems
Perform other duties as required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Able to manipulate and use hand tools, magnifying lens to set product
Correctly and accurately visually inspect product
Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings
PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Good hand eye coordination/motor skills and vision
Excellent communication skills
Basic computer skills; excel, word
Attention to detail and have sound judgment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting
Regularly exposed to chemicals, adhesive, stop-off
Some lifting of product as required; up to 50 lbs
