Shipping Clerk

SUMMARY:  Continental Diamond Tool is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shipping Clerk to join our manufacturing team specializing in superabrasive products (e.g., diamond and CBN tools). You will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and coordinating the shipment of high-precision industrial products to domestic and international customers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepare and package superabrasive tools and components for shipment according to company and customer specifications.

  • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and customs documentation using ERP and shipping software (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL, freight carriers).

  • Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure product quality, correct quantities, and proper labeling.

  • Coordinate with production, quality control, and customer service teams to meet shipping deadlines.

  • Maintain accurate shipping records and update inventory systems.

  • Schedule pickups and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Handle hazardous materials and international shipping documentation when required.

  • Assist with receiving and inventory control as needed.

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • High school diploma or GED (required)

  • Associate degree or vocational training (preferred)

  • 2+ years of experience in shipping/receiving, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting

  • Experience packaging and shipping products

  • Familiarity with superabrasive materials or precision tooling

  • Functional and technical skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including export compliance and hazardous materials handling

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred)

  • Ability to safely run and use required equipment

  • Ability to correctly and accurately inspect, engrave, and package product

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings
