SUMMARY:  As a Soldering/Masking Technician at Continental Diamond Tool, you will be responsible for securing the proper wire connections for products entering the plating process. This will include tasks such as chemical cleaning of the part, soldering, and any additional masking of the product using paint/stop-off, vinyl tape and/or masking film. All will be required to adhere to quality and safety standards, maintain equipment and tooling, and keep accurate records. Your contributions will be important in ensuring that our electroplating process maintains the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.

HOURS: 1st shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Required to read, understand, and follow work orders and engineering drawing.

  • Able to prepare, fixture and process product through the soldering process

  • Visually inspect tooling for obvious flaws, imperfection, or damage both pre and post masking/soldering

  • Properly label tooling with company name, mesh size, abrasive type, any special notes, and “Rush” orders.

  • Ability to properly secure required wire connection for the plating process

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations, and properly using and maintaining PPE

  • Report time and material in manufacturing systems

  • Participate in regularly scheduled acid changes

  • Perform other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Safely run and use required equipment

  • Required to read and understand work instructions, paperwork, and drawings

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Good hand eye coordination

  • High level of interpersonal communication skills

  • Good computer skills; Excel, Word, ERP systems

  • Excellent attention to detail and have sound judgment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly exposed to nickel plating chemistries, solder flux, mineral spirits and stop-off maskants

  • Frequently required to walk

  • Sit for long periods of time

  • Seldom required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Regularly lift and move up to 50lbs
