SUMMARY:  Responsible for buying material, goods, and services that the company requires for daily operations, manufacturing, or to be resold at a profit.

HOURS: Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Researching and comparing suppliers, goods, and services

  • Selecting the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, and cost-efficiency

  • Keeping in communication with department supervisors regarding inventory levels and purchasing needs

  • Requesting cost proposals and negotiation contracts and prices

  • Preparing and processing purchase orders

  • Maintaining records of all transactions and purchase orders.

  • Scheduling and verifying purchase deliveries

  • Track supplier performance: on time delivery, correct/accurate 

  • Building and maintaining positive, long-term supplier relations. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills 

  • Strong organization and documentation skills

  • Strong research and analytical skills

  • Attention to detail and have sound judgment

  • High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • 2+ years of related experience

  • Good computer skills; excel, word, ERP

  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality system
